Open Question: Good camping sites in England and Wales?

I'm hoping to go camping when my German friend visits me this summer (July-August) and was wondering where would be a good place to go. I live in Gloucester (south-west/midlands) and don't want to go too far away (Cornwall is the furthest I really want to go). I can't drive so it'll have to be somewhere I can travel to by train, and there needs to be enough around the camping area to amuse us for a week or so without having to drive although the bus is okay).
